About
My prior experience includes working for twenty-eight years as a Community Developer/Consultant in mental health and addictions. I worked for an organization whose agenda brought together expertise within a university affiliated, healthcare, science, community development, treatment and research environment.
Sixteen years ago, I developed hearing loss, and I’ve worn hearing aids for the past fourteen years. More recently, I’ve integrated assistive technology into aspects of my day-to-day life. Over the years I’ve developed strategies to manage a vast array of life situations as a hard of hearing individual in numerous settings, both personal and professional.
I have two university degrees and have taken numerous courses in mental health, project management, program evaluation and diversity. Having a background in mental health, and having lived with hearing loss for years provides me with a rather unique vantage point from which to help individuals struggling with hearing loss, their workplaces, managers and co-workers, friends and family. Please note this is a consultative service aimed at helping individuals and workplaces. No specific product or individual is endorsed.
